General FAQs

    • Final images: Photos showcased on my official photography accounts, as well as all high-resolution images delivered to clients (both paid and non-paid), will never include watermarks. These are your finished images to enjoy and share.

    • Proofs & samples: Images displayed in proofing galleries, shared in certain online spaces (such as Discord or Facebook Groups), or sent as previews/samples to potential clients and collaborators will always include a visible watermark. This protects my work during the review and selection process.

    • RAW files are uncompressed image files that contain all the data straight from the camera. These files are meant for photographers to edit and refine, and are not a finished product. For this reason, RAW files are not released or sold under normal circumstances.

    • All images delivered to clients are fully edited to professional standards—including adjustments to lighting, color, contrast, shadows, and sharpness. This ensures you receive polished, high-quality photos that represent my work.

      • In rare cases, such as with high-profile clients (e.g., real estate companies, politicians, or celebrities), RAW file discussions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

    • My photography services cover a wide range—I love capturing the world in all its forms, whether it’s for clients or personal projects.

      I offer:

      • Motorcycles (sport bikes, riders)

      • Portraits (individual, family, senior, graduation)

      • Weddings, elopements, and engagements

      • Events and celebrations

      • Sports and action photography

      • And much more

If you have an idea outside of this list, don’t hesitate to reach out. I enjoy taking on new challenges and tailoring each session to fit your vision. Contact me today to start planning your shoot!

    • Yes, you will have full ownership of the images provided to you. However, you will have ownership for personal purposes (+ social media usage, if desired). Any and all images used for commercial purposes or any other purposes used for monetary, political or otherwise used in any other settings is prohibited unless agreed upon via a commercial contract.

    • Full ownership does not mean the transfer of copyright(s). Any and all copyrights belong to Michael Cary Photography.

      • (See “Usage Rights Explained” Below.)

    • All images will be uploaded to an online gallery and password protected. The gallery will include two (2) different passcodes, one to access the gallery and one to download the gallery (or selected images you want).

      • Please note that there will be a gallery uploaded to the website that you can share with your friends, family, etc. if you do not feel comfortable sharing the password-protected gallery.

    • Images will never be delivered via email or through a messaging app unless provided a link to the online gallery.

    • The turnaround time for edited photos varies depending on the type of session and current workload. Generally, you can expect to receive your photos within 2-4 weeks after the shoot.

  • Who owns the photos?
As the photographer, I own the copyright to all images I create. When you book a session, you’re paying for the time, editing, and a license to use those photos in certain ways.

    What do “usage rights” mean?
Usage rights define how you’re allowed to use the photos you receive. Here’s the breakdown:

    • Personal Use

      • You can use the photos for your own enjoyment.

      • Examples: printing for your home, keeping as wallpapers, or sharing privately with friends.

      • Not for posting online or business use.

    • Social Media Rights

      • You can post your photos/videos on your personal social media accounts (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.).

      • You cannot sell the photos, alter them, or use them to promote a business without permission.

      • Giving credit (tagging my page) when posting is always appreciated.

    • Commercial Use License

      • This is required if the photos/videos will be used to make money or promote a brand/business.

      • Examples: shops, gear companies, influencers doing sponsored posts, advertisements, event promotion, etc.

      • Commercial licenses are included in certain packages or can be purchased as an add-on.
